Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (hereinafter the "Terms") govern the use of the educational platform education.equinoxdental.ro and participation in courses and events organized by SC Equinox Dental Education SRL.

By using the platform and/or registering for a course, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms in their entirety. These Terms are drafted in accordance with applicable Romanian and European legislation, including EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, Romanian GO 21/1992, Law No. 193/2000, and Law No. 365/2002.

The Romanian language version is the official version. The English translation is provided for convenience; in case of discrepancies, the Romanian version shall prevail.

• "Platform" — the website education.equinoxdental.ro and all related functionalities
• "Organizer" / "Provider" — SC Equinox Dental Education SRL
• "User" / "Participant" — any person who accesses the platform or registers for a course
• "Services" — educational courses, workshops, events, and related activities offered through the platform
• "Course" — any educational program offered through the platform
• "Registration" — the act of submitting a registration form for a course
• "Content" — all materials, texts, images, videos, presentations, and other intellectual property on the platform

• Services are intended for dental professionals and dental students (persons over 18 years of age)
• The platform does not target minors under 16 years of age
• Users must provide accurate and complete information during registration
• Users are responsible for the accuracy of the data they provide

• Registration is completed by filling in the registration form on the platform (name, email, phone, package selection)
• Registration is considered complete upon: (a) submission of the form, (b) receipt of confirmation email, and (c) payment (if applicable)
• Registration constitutes a binding agreement between the participant and the organizer
• Spots are limited — registration is on a first-come, first-served basis
• The organizer reserves the right to refuse a registration without obligation to state reasons

• Course prices are displayed on the platform. Prices may or may not include VAT, as specified on each course page
• Early bird pricing: valid until the deadline specified on the course page
• Package/group pricing: subject to the conditions specified on the course page
• Accepted payment methods: bank transfer, online payment (as applicable)
• Payment must be made within the specified deadline to confirm the seat
• Invoicing is done in accordance with Romanian fiscal regulations
• Currency: RON (Romanian lei)

Right of withdrawal (distance contracts):

Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and Romanian legislation, for distance contracts (online registration), consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date the contract is concluded.

Important exception: Under Art. 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU, the right of withdrawal does not apply to the provision of services related to leisure activities where the contract provides for a specific date of performance. Our courses have fixed dates, and by registering and paying for the course, the participant acknowledges and accepts this exception.

Cancellation by participant (outside the withdrawal period):

• More than 30 days before the course: full refund minus a 10% administrative fee
• 15–30 days before the course: 50% refund
• Less than 14 days before the course: no refund, but the participant may nominate a substitute
• No-show: no refund

Cancellation by the organizer:

• The organizer reserves the right to cancel or postpone a course due to: insufficient registrations, speaker unavailability, force majeure, or other circumstances
• In case of cancellation by the organizer: full refund or credit for a future course (at the participant's choice)
• Participants will be informed at least 7 days in advance
• The organizer is not liable for travel, accommodation, or other costs incurred by the participant

The organizer reserves the right to modify:

• The course schedule, agenda, or curriculum
• Lecturers / speakers (replacement with equally qualified professionals)
• Venue (within the same city, with adequate notice)

Material changes will be communicated to registered participants. If changes are significant, participants may request cancellation and a full refund.

• Participants must arrive on time and follow the course schedule
• Professional conduct is expected at all times during the event
• The organizer reserves the right to remove disruptive participants without a refund
• Participants must comply with venue rules and health and safety regulations
• Photography/recording restrictions may apply during courses (see section 11)

All course materials, presentations, handouts, videos, photographs, website content, logos, and trademarks are the intellectual property of Equinox Dental or the respective authors/lecturers and are protected under Romanian and EU intellectual property law.

Materials are provided exclusively for personal educational use.

Without prior written consent, it is prohibited to:

• Reproduce, distribute, or publish course materials
• Audio/video record courses or presentations
• Use the Equinox Dental name, logo, or branding for commercial purposes

Violation of intellectual property rights may result in civil and criminal liability.

• Certificates of participation are awarded according to the conditions specified on the course page (e.g., full attendance)
• The type of certificate (participation, CME/EMC credits) is specified in each course description
• Certificates are issued in digital or physical format, as specified for each course
• The organizer reserves the right to withhold the certificate if conditions are not met

• The organizer may photograph or record during courses/events for promotional and educational purposes
• By attending, participants consent to the use of such images on the website, social media, and marketing materials
• Participants who object must notify the organizer in writing before the event
• Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or consent

• The organizer provides educational content in good faith but does not guarantee specific outcomes
• Course content is for educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice or a substitute for professional clinical judgment
• The organizer is not liable for:
  • Clinical decisions made based on course content
  • Technical issues preventing access (if applicable)
  • Loss or damage to personal belongings at the venue
  • Indirect, consequential, or incidental damages
• Maximum liability is limited to the course fee paid by the participant
• Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, or gross negligence (per Art. 1355 Romanian Civil Code)

These clauses comply with the requirements of Romanian Law No. 193/2000 regarding unfair terms in consumer contracts.

Per Art. 1351 of the Romanian Civil Code, force majeure is defined as an external, unforeseeable, absolutely invincible, and unavoidable event.

• Neither party is liable for failure to perform obligations due to a force majeure event
• Examples: natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, state of emergency, war, strikes, utility failures
• The affected party must notify the other party as soon as possible
• If the force majeure event lasts more than 60 days, either party may terminate without liability

By registering for a course, the participant agrees to receive electronic communications related to the course (confirmation, logistics details, post-course materials).

Marketing communications (newsletters, offers) are subject to explicit consent, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Romanian Law No. 506/2004.

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Users must not:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform
• Use the platform for unlawful purposes
• Transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code
• Extract data from the platform through automated methods (scraping, crawling) without permission
• Interfere with the operation or security of the platform

The organizer may suspend or restrict access without notice in case of violations.

The platform may contain links to external websites. The organizer is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party websites. Accessing external links is at the user's own risk.

• These terms are governed by the laws of Romania
• Any disputes will be resolved primarily through amicable negotiation
• If negotiation fails, disputes will be submitted to the competent courts in Romania

• If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect
• These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between the parties
• We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time; changes will be published on the platform
• Continued use of the platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the new version
